Dr Paterson - Physician Extraordinary

My father never spoke much about his own family. It is only recently that I have come to appreciate that this was probably due to having lost two of his brothers to World War II, and then his father shortly after the war ended. An unexpected visit by an uncle of his, that was unknown to me, lead me to learning that I had a paternal great grandfather who made a stand, and in doing so, had in a small way left a mark. I was sixteen at the time and resolved that I would try and find out more about this great grandfather when I had the chance.

The first opportunity came whilst my family and I were living in Melbourne. To assist with the investigations I contacted my mother who sent me some material. I did no make much progress with my paternal great grandfather, but included with the stuff my mother had on my paternal great grandfather was some stuff on her paternal great grandfather. He too made a contribution and left his mark.

This page is dedicated to Dr Alexander Paterson.
