I now have six weeks to get myself ready to ride the Tour Durban and will mostly do so cruising up and down the hills in the North Western suburbs of Pietermaritzburg. I will record the more regularly used routes here using the Tracker app running on my Nokia PureView 808 smart phone. I will also incorporate the photographs taken during Tracker recordings.

Unfortunately the app did not work during my first attempt that corresponded to a ride from the Royal Agricultural Show (RAS) entrance up Old Howick Road to the Athlone Circle, then along Peter Brown Road to Queen Elizabeth Park (QEP), and finally down through QEP to Non Such Road, ending with a short ride up Town Bush Road to Park View (PV).

I did get some photographs and present them here, some with accompanying comments.

Starred thumbnails have an accompanying comment that pops up and remains up, while the mouse pointer is over the thumb-nail.

The aspect ration for some thumb-nail pics may be incorrect. (On the To-do list). Some of the the images presented in the Slide Show may not fit the display area properly (Also on the To-do list).

While this presentation of photographs may come over as a gripe about the conditions that prevail in Pietermaritzburg (PMB), that is not the intention. Some of the photographs are simply shots of what I considered to be interesting scenes and situations.

Others are of situations regarding PMB that do concern me and which I am hoping sill serve to bring attention to them, and to ultimately result on a resolution of the corresponding problem.

Then there are some of the photographs will reflect action that has resulted in the corresponding concern having been resolved. They also hopefully serve as a commendation to those responsible for the action that lead to the resolution of the concern.

Finally there are some photographs taken asa I rode through Queen Elizabeth Park. The place is a gem and the locals real starts.

Takes a while to load, but then proceeds quite smoothly. Looses image aspect ratio for portrait images i.e., squashes them.

If you have any comments, corrections, suggestions or plain criticism, I would appreciate it if you would communicate the same to me.
