*** Welcome to my PMB blog, the umpteenth! ***
Time to move on

Being a 70+ retired individual has in my opinion made it a lot easier to deal with 2020, a year stomped all over world wide by the Corona Virus pandemic. I was already staying at home and mostly amusing myself, so being told to stay at home simply refocused my attention on finding some new ways of doing what I was already doing. The most significant outcome of that, and reward in a sense, was that it saw the family spend more time being just that, a family talking and working (surviving) together.
Lockdown Level 5 basically shut the country down for 5 weeks.
That was eight months ago and we now find ourselves at Level 1. While the changes have been significant, the effect that it is still having on the lives of everyone also remains significant. Not a good time to sell a home and relocate, and that is exactly what Edith, Bruce and and I are doing right now. It is of course not all bad, the process has seen Edith and I spending two weeks at Lemonwood Cottages in the Dargle Valley. The valley is an extraordinarily beautiful place and the location of Lemonwood Cottages provides a splendid panorama of that beauty, situated on a southern slope just below the second largest mist belt indigenous forest in the Midlands.
Basically we were here because a) we were on holiday; b) the transfer of our home in Park View to the new owner was going to go through on 30 November, 2020, and our rental was only available from 15 December, 2020; c) there are some indigenous hillside mist-belt forests to walk through to reach the top of the hills; and d) to summit iNhlosane, the most prominent peak in the region at large.
The rather long sequence of photographs included below, some of which are annotated, are in a sense a narrative of what we did and saw during our stay at Lemonwood Cottages. Obviously quite heavily influenced by Edith's passion for observing nature, and me wanting to climb to the top of whatever slope is available at the time to check out and photograph the view. The are several photographs of the view from our cottage, and that is me searching for the shot that would match or better the one taken by Rob Pritchard. You will find the link to that photograph in the list that follows the photographs.
