Edith and I joined Blanche in Langebaan where she was already staying with Keith and Cathy. We stayed in Club Mykynos thanks to the generosity of Keith. Needless to say the flowers were fantastic. Edith and I also managed to do a bit of cycling with Keith in the West Coast National Park. A great experience. From there Edith, Blanche and I headed to the Karoo National Park. Edith has wanted to visit the park for some time and was not disappointed by the fossils on display in the park. We also had some good game sightings. From there we trekked to Nieu Bethesda stopping off in Graaf Reinet to have tea at the restored Drosty Hotel. We also visited the iconic Dutch Reform Church. At Nieu Bethesda John was our host and as always, the stay was special. John knows a lot and more important than that, is able to impart his knowledge to others in a manner that sees them being completely comfortable with the learning experience. Our last stop was with my sister Trish and her husband Dave. They too were very generous both in terms of their home and time. Our trips to Addo to see the Ellies, and then to the Van Stadens Wild Flower Reserve to see the Proteas, were also both great. Before leaving Port Elizabeth we also got to have dinner with Shelley, her husband Simon, and their lovely daughters.
