In January 1992 Edith, Cheryl, Bruce and I set of on a six month sabbatical at Monash University in Melbourne and what became a great adventure. It started with a three week stop over in Perth where we were generously hosted by Edith's sister and her family. One of my recollections from that visit was a trip to the aquarium and so Edith and I thought it would be a good idea to repeat that visit, but this time with our grandchildren, Ingrid and Isaac. My only recollection from that first visit is being hugely impressed by the glass-roofed tunnel that took us on a trip through the primary aquarium tank. I could not say whether that tunnel has been improved or remodelled since then, but it is now a circular tour within the tank and it is just as impressive as it ever was.
As for the photographs, I guess that I created this page to record the time spent with Ingrid and Isaac, and to share the first photograph. For me it is one particular encapsulation of the majesty of the oceans, something we became even more aware of while we watched the recently released BBC TV Series, "Blue Planet II". Everyone should watch the series for various good reasons, the least of all being the extent to which it portrays the threat that these oceans currently face as a result of pollution.
Nemo was there, see for yourself.

Takes a while to load, but then proceeds quite smoothly. Looses image aspect ratio for portrait images i.e., squashes them.
If you have any comments, corrections, suggestions or plain criticism, I would appreciate it if you would communicate the same to me.
