'Allo 'Allo Gardens! (AAG) Howick (uMngeni) AAG Blog Protea Gardens Phase 4 What is written below is very much my own opinion. |
![]() |
Protea Gardens was not built in a day. It was also not built as planned. The next phase (4) sees another row of units, added below the current lowest level of units. I live in 34 Protea Gardens in Pincushion Lane, the current lowest level of units.
When I saw the plan for phase 4, the 2025 proposed extension of Protea Gardens, I rather liked it. While it means that we will end up with folk living below us, it also pushes back the mess that currently resides over the electric fence. These folk will presumably become the new owners of that mess.
So what is this about?
My Wish List
Basically I am hoping that:
this is the final extension of Protea Gardens. Once it has been completed, PG will become an entirely independent entity, managing it's own affairs.
what remains of the vacant land (original property) below the new bottom row of units, will be tiered/leveled, veld-grassed, and gifted to the Municipality.
the rain (storm) water that leaves Protea Gardens is adequately dealt with, and that in doing so, it does not threaten any of the properties along the path that it ultimately follows.
the developer rebuild/modify the block at the gate to accommodate the Post Boxes Room, a Staff Kitchen, a bigger Staff Bathroom, and an office suite for the Complex Manager.
the vacant land above the top row of units be landscaped and handed over to the body corporate..
the developer be feted at the club house before he takes his leave of Protea Gardens, and that he lives happily ever after :-))
To Phase or not to Phase,
is that the question?
If you have any comments, corrections, suggestions or plain criticism,
I would appreciate it if you would communicate the same to me.
