My Dad was generally not that talkative and he almost never spoke about his family. While he was not an alcoholic, he did have a drinking problem. He would drink more than his fair share after golf, or at home on a Friday night. On a few of these occasions at home I would end up talking to him.

Since my Dad passed away, I have researched my paternal and maternal family trees. In doing so I also learned more about his two brothers, George and William who perished during World War II. William was a submariner and features in a tattoo of an anchor that my father had on the inside of his left forearm. The tattoo was similar to the tattoo that features in the title of this blog.

... and Bill, you are not gone until no one remembers you.
