'Allo 'Allo Gardens! (AAG) Howick (uMngeni) AAG Blog Brahman Hills GIANT Best viewed using a Browser Running in a window on a PC or Laptop |
Recently my local (PMB) grand daughter posted an interesting and amusing photograph (shown below) on our local family bulletin board. It featured what to me seemed to be a very cleverly painted rock that was prominent on the hillside just beyond the Durban bound N3 turnoff to Nottingham Road. It also reminded of the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa.
Before I started to write this blog, I thought I best first investigate the, "Painted Rock". I was wrong! It is in fact a sculpture crafted by South African artist Louis Van Den Heever using sandbags and steel rods. (It appears on Facebook - Also on a blog - see the links below)
Credit is also due to Zapiro and the South African President, because I did not sit down to write the blog until I saw Zapiro's latest Daily Maverick Cartoon. It too can be seen using a link provided below.
As for the GIANT, I hope he does not scare easily. I say that because the bigger picture in South Africa is not always prettier.
If you have any comments, corrections, suggestions or plain criticism, I would appreciate it if you would communicate the same to me.
