'Allo 'Allo Gardens ! (AAG) Howick (uMngeni) Protea Gardens Development Timeline (Continued) 2024 & Phase 4 8 March 2024 Popup images best viewed using a PC/Laptop |
What follows is my personal opinion regarding: i) how the development of Protea Gardens could proceed and ii) how I came to hold that point of view.
The first of the images included below shows the plan for Protea Gardens as it was originally envisaged. It was give to us by an estate agent.
The second image shows a recent Google Earth image of Protea Gardens.
The third image shows how the developer proposes to continue with phase 4 of the development. For the purposes of what follows I am going to assume that Phase 4 is it, QED! Nkosi Sikelela iAfrika
In my opinion the original plan for Phase 4 was too crowded and possibly encroaches on the stream boundary. The latest plan is simpler, cleaner and avoids the stream boundary. The proposed units conform to the current architectural style and will create a sense of uniformity throughout the complex.
If the plan for Phase 4 proceeds, I would like it to include completion of the basic ground work and grassing of the remainder of the property above Lady Di Lane, and a similar treatment of the property below the Phase 4 row of units. Also that the current electric fence below Scarlet Ribbon and Pincushion a) be extended together with a gate to enclose the new row of units, and b) that an additional electric fence be erected to include and secure the area below the phase 4 units as a recreational area for residents.
Finally, with regard to the recent spate of WhatsApp messages regarding the Phase 4 development: a) We are happy with our home and the community we live in; b) We worked well with James and are satisfied with the quality of the building; c) The developer has a long history of successful developments and there is no reason to think he will not complete Protea Gardens to be an asset to all of us.
