Late November Rain
&
the Belated Joys of Spring
Aloe

Fortunately we started our Saturday Morning Ride 10 minutes late, as 10 minutes into the ride to the ride rendevouz, we had to seek shelter. The Amber Field Entrance was it. Just as well, as Edith‘s phone was red-hot. Rides were being cancelled left right and center.

Eventually the rain let up a bit and we set off for home. In doing so we passed riders returning that we had passed going the other way. As we approach The Currys Post Road and the Protea Garden‘s gate, I suggested to Edith that we ride up to the Cafe at Dirt Road Traders in the hope that the rain will stop. It didn’t. No bicycles, but quite a few serious runners, some being accompanied by a vehicle.

After French Toast and coffee we headed back. Thank’s Dirt Road Traders’ Cafe for allowing is in at 07h20. The ride home was in the clear with stops to take photographs of indigenous flowers that Edith had spotted while we were mostly descending the never-ending KwaZulu-Natal Midlands hills.
