Firstly a big thank-you to Des who put a lot of effort into putting this ride together. It was not for the faint hearted. It was a tough ride sold on the grounds of time spent riding from Nottingham Road to Glengarry for a Brunch, and then riding back to Nottingham Road. Glengarry is a Holiday Farm located in the beautiful Kamberg region in the foothills of the World Heritage Drakensberg Mountains. You could not ask for more.
The photograph of the up-turned bike was taken by Des. He was ahead of Edith and I at the time. As I approached him and his upturned bike, my heart sank as I thought he had a mechanical problem. Then I noticed he was holding his phone, and when I asked whether he needed a hand, his reply was was, "No problem, I was just taking a pic of a tired horse". Somewhat bewildered, I carried on. It was only that evening when Des shared his, "Tired Horse" pic, that I understood what he meant at the time. Des has an excellent sense of humour, and an extraordinary ability to keep up with the rest of the e-bike mounted gang while riding his, "Tired Horse".
