Corona Man Face

On the 15th of December 2020 Edith and I took occupation of a rental home in the Amber Valley Retirement Village in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal. A week later it was mid-summer and as the home (29S, 30E) faced East (), we had an excellent view of the rising sun at 4:55 AM. To catch a view of it setting magnificently at 6:58 PM over the Amber Lakes and the Dargle Valley hills, we had to backtrack over the hill behind us. It did not take me long to once more appreciate why one would mostly want to live in a home that faces North (or South if you live in the North).

Living were we are we have a magnificent view of of the Amber Valley Game Area, and all who wander through it. Also of the uMngeni River Gorge and it's magnificent Sandstone cliff faces. Also of the prevailing easterly wind as it sweeps across the Serengeti like grasslands before colliding with our homestead on the the Prairie. Giving all this stimulation I guess it was natural to start thinking about were the sun would rise, and set on the day of the Winter Solstice. Also about how well placed all the other homes that Edith and I have lived in were placed or positioned with respect to the rising and setting sun.

So that is what all the pics are about, and if you do look at them, I am sure you will also come to the conclusion that none of them were that well placed. Also that no matter were you find yourself, what is important, is that you make good use of the time and opportunities that present themselves. Carpe Diem and To thine own self be true!

Getting it to work on a device that has a touch-screen is a problem that I still have to solve.
